What a season!
The 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship delivered on so many levels. We saw outright talent, excitement, controversy, incredible racing and arguably the best climax to a Championship in history.
Jonathan Palmer’s MSV team with Series Director Stuart Higgs in control implemented some changes to the points scoring system. The ‘Showdown’ was reformatted with a different points structure designed to ensure that the Championship went down to the wire, and boy, did it go down to the finish!
First published in 2003, Seeing Red is the official definitive annual photographic record documenting the events of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Held over 11 rounds, the 2023 Championship once again hosted a BikeSocial Sprint Race followed by two feature races each weekend – a season with 33 exciting and dramatic races to determine who would be the best of British.
The photographic story of another tremendous and historic season of racing was again captured by the most experienced team of photographers in Bennetts BSB, Double Red.
The joy, despair, elation, frustration, effort, controversy, and indeed humour that make the series what it is, including those elusive behind-the-scenes images, are captured in Seeing Red 2023. We also detail the teams at work, highlight the exotic racing machines and capture the very people who make the Bennetts British Superbike Championship so special.
Since 1989, Double Red has photographed well over 700 British Superbike Championship races and thousands and thousands of practice laps, including every race since 1994. During this time, the team of photographers and digital editors have earned an enviable reputation for providing first-class photography coupled with a highly professional level of service.
